We have an annoyance thread. Heres an awesome one.

5 minutes of peace whilst the kids play with their new toys and I get to sit down for a cuppa .

This is in no way a dig (especially given the title of the thread!!) but the X Factor single was also for charity this year and one close to the hearts of my family so a bit bummed out by it not being top spot. But please don't take it the wrong way! Just saying a lot of money was raised for charity by both which is actually very awesome anyway!!

Can I ask what that link was, Rachie? Obviously if it's private then fair enough, I'm just being curious.

Receiving a voucher to go diving with sharks for Christmas. That's awesome.

I'm having one at the minute which is just the doggies.

Basically a BLT but with Brie and Jalapeño relish.

I love a bacon Buttie with the HP. But even with just the cheese and relish takes it to a new world.

But but but... how?! Always love it when that happens! My scales at uni are broken so say half a stone lighter than the actual weight, always makes me feel good haha.

Good for you, I've had a stressful Autumn and have now found out I'm a stress eater and put on 2 stone since August :-((

(I'm also a man discussing his weight  )

But my new contribution for this awesomeness thread is David Attenborough:

He's had an amazing job, sharing with us the natural world for the past 6 decades and has given so many people an interest in nature. Some of the footage him and his teams over the years have been able to share with the world have been just jaw dropping, and even world changing. I can't wait for his new series about Africa starting in the new year.

Friends came out trumps with their X-mas pressies this year. Pick of the bunch are:

-Some fake glue-on Vampire fangs
-Some purple bracers
-A pewter/amber braclet with a tasmanian wolf spider set in the amber stone
-A pink studded collar
-Anthrax I Am the Law Judge Dred t-shirt
-Vallenfyre CD

Getting my new desktop from my uncle. Ironically, in the same tower as my old desktop. If I ever get my essay finished I'll have a poke about later!

[Oh, and the fair chance of getting laid tomorrow night and ruining my reputation yet again in the "most sexually frustrated" stakes! ]

Never mind Ebay. I'll save you the hassle of the time wasters on there and the extortionate fees.

I'll PM you my address and you can save yourself a load of hassle sure :P

p.s. How the heck do you forget you have a Gibson? :?

He he I forget lots of things, I had a bad knock on the head around 15 years ago that resulted in certain memory issues, some things are just a blank and some other things I can remember in very fine detail (plus I probably had 15+ guitars at the time).

The SG is in pretty bad shape, must have been lying in my damp garage for 5 or 6 years at least (wasn't even in a case), might try and do it up. Just googled it and it is one of the cheaper versions that Gibson made in 1979, this is it...

The funny shaped bit of chocolate you end up with after you've eaten all the segments in a Terry's chocolate orange. The but in the middle.

No idea why but it always seems to be even more enjoyable that the rest of the orange despite it being the same stuff.

Awesome!!!!!!!

a couple of friends debated this very issue once way back in our student cough*stoner*cough days. We came up with a theory on why it tastes better than the surrounding segments. It's because that part in a real orange is bitter and has an unpleasant texture. Therefore you have the brain conditioned to think of the centre of the orange as unpleasant and when it turns out to be nice you have a double whammy of it being nice and the pleasant surprise of it not being bitter.

Had my first ever payment from PRS last month for radio play.
£7.48 - Get in!

While feeling worse for wear on New Years Day while writing music, my girlfriend cooked up an incredible sandwich - Falafel, Lettuce, Yellow Peppers, cherry tomatoes with a little bit of mayo, a little bit of ketchup all in 2 bits of toasted and slightly fried sourdough bread. Goodbye hangover! This was my bacon sandwich (I'm a vegetarian)

Also finally cracked Suzuka sector 1 on F12012 - A triple bill of awesome from me.

Obtained bargin pc from work collegue today. 3 year old and hardly used. screen is still in its orginal wrapping/box, keyboard and mouse are new, not a dent on it.... £60. Get in there~ The screen alone is worth double that... glad because my old pc's motherboard has finally fried. I will upgrade the harddrive size at some point, and maybe some extra RAM, but it doesn't need much more than that. Cheepest 2nd hand one i could find in shops was £120 for manky old tower... score!

Home for the holiday period and my sister and I wanted to go to our favourite restaurant. We discovered it had closed, then discovered the team had reopened elsewhere with new partners and it's now even better.

My friends with benefits arrangement. For example: The Saturday of the Monaco GP last year he wanted to go out to one of the city's best restaurants where it is very difficult to get a booking. I said I couldn't because of qualifying so he offered to instead cook a roast with all the trimmings at his place and I could watch it there. He has no interest in the sport whatsoever. I'm a Schumacher fan so as you can imagine when Schumi took pole I was a lunatic. His reaction to the whole thing was, "Hey babe, I think I've got a bottle of Mumm somewhere. Shall we open it?" When I stay over he gets up early and goes for a swim and a surf then brings me back juice and breakfast. It's rather too bad we don't have enough in common for a relationship!

Formula 1, obviously.

To be fair we could keep on top of that more  But considering I only joined the band in November and therefore didn't play on the album I thought it was a bit of a win

Hey that is a win.

It's amazing how many folk don't know you can make money from royalties playing your own songs. I only found out because the PRS thing comes up on a few Guitar forums I'm on pretty regular. One guy was pretty anal about doing it after every gig as he said you might as well get every penny you can for playing your own songs.

Definitely, the venue helps too - Some venues will actually give you the PRS sheets. Some refuse to even sign them. And sometimes you just want to load up the van and get the hell out of dodge. Or Crewe. Crewe was tense

I think your problem there was you went to Crewe. I went to a gig there once and the lead singer ended up jumping off stage onto a fight and told them both to lay off or get out.
