Nice! I have a rear wing endplate from a formula renault 3.5 that I stole/procured after a crash on my study wall.

I pushed my limits a bit yesterday:

Image

Now you can see the 1988 and 1990 wings, while the 1991 is still under construction. What do you think? Peopel at work can't believe it's paper loll...

EDIT: It's not 100% accurate, especially the 1990 wing (middle one). ...I designed the winglets too short... :(

I use Powerpoint 2003... I may come as a surprise to some, but my work made me a pro with that software. Then I use an Xacto, scissors, a black marker, cardboard (cereal boxes) and glue stick. I need to buy an hot glue gun though; the glue stick isn't strong enough to hold the endplates properly.

I could transfer them to PDF files and upload them for you guys if you'Re interested.

I fixed the 1991 one; the winglets were not enough at the rear of the wing and the angle was wrong.

Has to be Villeneuve 1997, when Hill took #1 to Arrows; I nearly said Hill 95 before I realised that was before the current numbering system took effect...

Correct! I'll make Williams' noses from 1992 to 1994 (WCC years).

I didn't avoid the same pitfall, said Hill 95. As soon as I saw your post I was kicking myself!

Awesome work 381, those are pretty impressive!

There's someone on the AutoSport forums with a similar hobby. I envy his patience - they take a year or two EACH. He's built a fully-functioning digger, and I believe a crane also. There was some sort of lifting mechanism, anyway.

As it is, I prefer things like this: F1 cars [and bits thereof] are better than diggers!

What kind of job allows you the time - during work hours - to create these?!

Great work!

Thanks! I'm thinking of doing a Williams series too; '92, '93, '96 & '97. And the Jordan 191.

Excellent work 381, keep it up! How long before your desk is nothing but front wings, and someone gets suspicious that you're using supplies to make F1 front wings? :P

I think a 2012 wing would be far more complicated, to get all the detail right would be nearly impossible.

I'm thinking of building an RB8 front wing, but it "scares" me a bit... :/

At least 2012 are a lot more linear or the base plane is at least.
These things are all curves, winglets and horns.

Lovely little corner, your wings are much smaller than I thought at first. Lamo's comment made me think of the first SuperAguri, but I can't remember how complicated that front wing was.
