That's exactly how I feel about his style of movies.... he makes bad movies that a very entertaining to watch. He's also one of the main innovators of IMAX cameras as well, so while we can always point out the stupid and ridiculous things we see... they're always in the highest quality that can be done.... and I do like the fact he's got the mentality of 'if it can be done for real, then do it for real'. he uses CGI to compliment his vision (Strange comment to make about a movie containing numerous giant CGI Robots I know), rather than rely on it to make his vision reality

I watched the King Arthur movie. It was a bit... I can't tell if I liked it or not. Probably not. It was like Lock Stock but in the round table! Very weird indeed.

If I didn't know you were talking about Guy Richie (you are, aren't you?), that description sounds a lot like Peter Jackson from 25 years ago ;)

Wonder Woman is arguably the best DC movie so far in the new universe... Gal Gadot is superb as Diana, Pine is great as Steve Trevor and the rest of the cast is just as good.

I watched it last night. I agree about Gadot and Pine, Gadot is such a powerfull actress. However I didn't like the storyline, it felt like any other movie recipe, right down to the twist at the end (surprise the bad guy isn't who you thought it would be).

So, I watched Alien:Covenant yesterday. It is truly truly awful. Basically, it's the dodgy Predators film with Adrien Brody but with Aliens instead.
The problem with it, is that it just invents a new bit of Alien mythology. Instead of facehuggers, they use

plants that shoot pollen into your nose/ear
. It's genuinely the dumbest thing I've seen in this franchise, and that includes the human/alien hybrid nonsense from Resurrection.
Then, there is a bit in the middle when there is an extended section while
Spoiler: show
two androids teach each other how to play the flute
and it shows one of them
Spoiler: show
cutting his long hair. How do robots grow hair??

Also, there is no real terror. At all. It's just so bad.

Watched Blade Runner 2049 last night.

Not bad, however I found it slow at times. Reading reviews, a lot of people thought the same. It could have easily been 40' shorter.

Also:

Spoiler: show
What did Wallace want Deckard and the child? He mentions that he wants the Replicas to conquer the universe, but he can't produce enough of them. Then when it is known that the Replicas can reproduce, he wants to take advantage of this???

The whole point as shown by the resistance is that if the Replicants reproduce by themselves then they will rise above the humans,
superior in any way. They will not need Wallace to produce them anymore.

If he wants to kill them, then why does he take Deckard as a prisoner? Why not just kill him?

Something doesn't add up. Or more likely there's something I am missing!

I loved the new Blade Runner and in my opinion before going to see it, it was not a film that needed to be made. The score was just fantastic and the cinematography was beautiful. I need to go and see it for a 2nd time I think but at an imax screen.

Just watched the 2014 Godzilla movie again and I still can't understand why it got so slated?

I love the original post war Japanese Godzilla films and I love this one, it is a perfect homage to what it is based on.

Who has watched Ragnarok yet?

I liked it a lot, but man did they turn it into a comedy or what? It was quite a good movie otherwise

THE NEON DEMON

Ideal if you like David Lynch type films and you have a thing for lesbian necrophilia. Seriously. Jenna Malone is awesome in this film and Keanu Reeves is surprisingly nasty. I watched this twice and will definitely watch it again...

I did, Hemsworth and Hiddleston should team-up as "The Odd Couple". Sure they worked together like a comedy. Should have Hiddleston play Alex while Hemsworth do the Oscar part.

But in the end. It was a great movie. If only I could wished for is a crossover. Avengers and Star Wars together. Watching the credits roll and the 1st partial scene where the ship is getting pursued by the Grandmaster's brother The Collector. It enticed me just like the Darth Vader pursuing Princess Leia to retrieve the plans.

It would be fun if they found Naboo (From Star Wars: The Phantom Menace).

As far as movies go, I just watched Justice League. There will be a surprise going to the full ending after the credits. An extra scene will be shown. It doesn't matter what they say how crappy it is, I loved it.

Justice league is the next one I'll go, thanks for the tip.

H&H were good, I agree. And as a movie Ragnarok was fine, a bit TOO much comedy maybe, but good overall. I didn't like the music though. For some reason that is what annoyed me the most. All previous Thor movies had a theme, this one was just whatever... Meh, small thing

Yeah watched it. I really liked it and my respect for Claire (and Frank) is even bigger now.

Saw Starwars: The last Jedi last night and although there were some issues with it, I enjoyed it a lot.

My main gripe is simply the length of it (although that may have been because I'd had a couple of beers before and really needed the toilet after about 1.5 hours!). There were quite a lot on 'endings' where you'd think the film finished, but it carried on. I guess in a way it's good that didn't leave the film on a massive cliff hanger and went with the current trend of splitting the story up into as many films as possible for the extra money.

There was a lot more light heartedness than there has been in the past, some of which was quite funny or cute etc, but some of it did get annoying the longer it went on, but none of it was as bad as Jar Jar! That was balanced though by quite a few dark moments in the film and I think they found an ok mix of the 2.

Without going into spoilers, it's overall a decent film and I'd recommend it to everyone.
