Well then.... WELL THEN!!!!! Here comes the Champions League!

Bloody hell, don't think I've been so nervous watching a match for a long time.... CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!

Really? Wasn't that nervous in the end, prematch maybe but it was pretty clear Ajax didn't have any answers throughout. If Utd hadn't got the 2nd the end would have been worse of course.

Also, this is childish but still amusing :D

It was mostly down to a gut feeling of the fact it was such an important match for us for this season and next.... just had a horrible feeling we'd screw it up. When we got the second it lessened, but I was still nervous

So, Arsene Wenger gets a new two year contract. Baffling decision, and it shows that the Arsenal board has no ambition.
Manager out of contract at the end of the season, finished out of the top 4 for the first time in 20 years, finished 11 points behind our rivals, and 18 off the league winners, and gets rewarded with a new contract.
Looking forward to Ainsley Maitland-Niles playing centreback and Lucas Perez playing wing back on the opening day while we haggle over price for Scott Dann.

Even stranger if there was any truth in the rumour of their interest in Tuchel as he's just become available. The last part reminds me of a good point someone made earlier in the year, the haggling over Mustafi meant he wasn't available for their first couple of games, notably the one against Liverpool. No guarentee the result would have been different of course but amazing how little things like that could have caused a potentially large difference in the season.

It's just boring every year. Unprepared squad in August, rush signings on deadline day, terrible form in November and February, an upturn in form after February to scrape 4th (or not). And now we've finished 5th, getting 4th will be seen as an improvement.

Lukaku to United for £75m looking likely. Have to say I'm a little unsure. He's still young but I'm not that convinced by his all round game, don't know how great he'd be for winning the CL etc. Should bang in enough goals to get back into it in the first place I guess.

He's been getting a fair few goals this last season.... but I have to admit he wasn't someone I thought we'd go for...

Watford's equaliser for 3-3 can't have been offside. The ball was played backwards by his teammate and was deflected towards the goal line by a combination of the Liverpool defender and Mignolet's arm.

Dunno how Chelsea could have had a worse start to the season... losing to Burnley and getting two players banned...

Liverpool snatched a point from a victory today.

And It had to be Rooney didn't it?

It all started with Cahill..... :-(( Good second half by Chelsea with 9 men.
I have to say, Manchester United really played well today. Pogba was great and Lukaku had one of his good days. Hurts to say it.

Great way to start the season and if this is any indication as to how we'll do this season... yippee!

Lukaku, Rashford, Matic, Mkhitaryan, Martial... we saw a few players show great potential. West Ham weren't sitting back either, they had a few good chances and I think they could do well this season.

Jonjo Shelvey was given the opportunity to offer his opinion on certain Spurs players. He was asked, "Where do you stand on Dele Alli?"

You are offside if you are in an offside position and disrupt the keeper, which Britos is clearly doing.
Also, a forward pass is dependent on the relative positions of the players, not the direction of the ball. Britos is ahead of the Watford player who plays the ball, so regardless of the direction of the ball travel, he is automatically offside.
From the FIFA offical laws of the game:

In the context of Law 11 – Offside, the following defi nitions apply:
• “nearer to his opponents’ goal line” means that any part of a player’s
head, body or feet is nearer to his opponents’ goal line than both the
ball
and the second-last opponent. The arms are not included in this
defi nition

Sorry but you are completely wrong on this. You cannot be offside if the ball is played towards your own goal (no matter where you are on the pitch) any more than you can if the ball is not played at all. The ball came to the goal scorer from a defender. You cannot be offside from a ball played by a member of the opposing team. As for the parts of the body that determine an offside position, they are any parts of the body with which a player may legitimately play the ball and score a goal. This is however irrelevant to this particular situation. He was completely in an offside position but was not offside.

Liverpool game yesterday was a joy to watch. I hope they can pick up a CB prior to the window closing, as Levren is a liability, but offensively, what a performance. Of course, Arsenal was as bad as they could have possibly been. Tough to be an Arsenal fan right now!

You have no idea. We pushed Bellerin, our only right back to left wing back to allow Oxlade Chamberlain to start, even though Ox doesn't want to play for us (and we're about to sell), even though we had the Bundesliga left back of the year sitting on our bench.
We benched our 50m record signing striker for an out of form Welbeck too.
Oh and we are going to sell Alexis Sanchez to Man City for Raheem Sterling and us giving them some cash.
Oh and we shipped 9 goals in 3 games. And our manager won't admit there is a problem. It's grim.
