A woman has just given birth to a baby in London England. This is huge. It's all over the media.

What an age of discovery and progress we live in!

Poor thing, must have been terrible for her. Good job it did not happen to some poor woman Eh? There would not have been all those medical (and no doubt psychiatric) staff hanging around spare, and who knows what could have happed.

Ps.

Irrespective of that, Congrats to the mom and dad. They are only human and do not control the press.

Wait.

A man and a woman met, got together, got married, had a kid then a while later had another kid? That's practically unheard of.

UPDATE!

Man drives himself to hospital, gets out, removes son from back seat of car himself and enters hospital.

This coverage is stunning.

Well, make the most of this. Probably the last baby for Kate and Will if the, 'child benefit only for first two children' policy comes in to play. They'll be watching the election result closely.

Anyway, back to Spa 6 hours. Stunning racing as usual.

The Royal Family give a lot of pleasure to a lot of people like F1 does to us. Let them enjoy it.

I know it does not seem it to republicans but the Royal Family serve a practical purpose in the UK's democracy by ensuring elected politicians do not suddenly get ideas of grandeur and change their title to Emperor (Napoleon) or Fuhrer (Hitler) as the armed forces nominally belong to the royalty and would put down such a coup. You would not pick the UK's current political system if you was designing a system from scratch but it is an inevitable by-product of the behaviour of King Charles I and Lord Protector Oliver Cromwell, both of whom abused their absolute power. Checks and balances, all political systems need them.

Didn't know you got such a fragile democracy in the UK... any moment it could fall apart and degrade into most nasty dictatorships... if just not for these incredibly important babies being born every now and then...

Well it was fragile about 400 years ago but it then evolved into what we have now and has served us pretty well since.

I read a while back how many world leaders are of the same line as Victoria. Dont recall the number, but it seems to be most of the western world.

Edit

Googled it
