This comes from the Singapore GP Guide...

"As we approach the first night race of the season,"

"Since 1966, Singapore has hosted Formula 1 on 16 separate occasions, but didn’t host a single event between 1974 and 2007 due to concerns about the track." This is a very misleading sentence.

It reads as if written by someone with no knowledge of Formula 1. I totally get that mistakes and typos happen (they shouldn't considering this is what they do for a living, but I'll let it go), but these sorts of things make me wonder what robots they've got working for them.

F1 being a PR robots world, it's rather logical to see robots writing about it.

I agree. Some of the articles are written in such broken English too, that they make absolutely no sense.

A lot of sports articles and economics articles are written by bots, so it's possible.

Are anything in their articles worth reading in the first place? Personally, I get my information from much more relaiable sources, and I form my own opinions.

The writing on PF1's front page is abysmal at times and the sensationalism of things said is terrible. It's become Click bait for intents and purposes as it is rare you find anything of value in the articles. Sad really.

Its all borrowed from a mass media outlet... think F365 is the only site left out of the group that makes any of its own content, and even that has a marked drop in quality between the stuff written by the paid for guys and the general news that pops up on there.

I dont think they are, as bots (are supposed to) check the article before posting it.

Back when Pete Gill wrote the 'Winners and Losers' section after each race for PF1, I'd read that. He did the 'team-mate wars' sometimes, too, but I'd often steer clear of that as Andrew Davies had a habit of writing them and he was just atrociously bad. Nowadays, I honestly couldn't tell you the last time I even looked at the PF1 site. I don't even know if it is any good these days, but whenever I see it mentioned/quoted on here, it never entices me to go look at it. Seems to be a bit nincompoop, and with plenty of other good sites I just don't see the need to even visit it.

I think it is cut and paste from someones files as they often seem to half of one paragraph and half of another.
Someone supplying several sites and re-jigging the same content to look as if it did not come from the same page.

(or their auto translate is up the spout)

That said, I usually read it.

I have an app thing on my phone that shows stories from Motorsport.com, Autosport.com, Pitpass and a couple of others. Pretty good broad strokes news, maybe not enough for the most hardcore of fans.

Though I probably get a good third of my news just from the topics on this forum.

Thank you for that, I appreciate it.

I'm not sure how this topic is non-f1 related and subsequently moved, but there you go

Yet you are all still here.

Yet you are all still reading the articles.

Enough said really.

A lot of news articles and stories make no sense as the journos are functionally illiterate - the sub-editors aren't up to much - and grammar and spelling are no longer an issue for many publications.

It gets back to education not being valued in many places - such that there is no 'care' - I mean the level of ignorance of world history or facts are obvious with support for conspiracy theories - or just apathy - mean that obviously wrong information is taken as fact - or 'cult of fame' can influence opinion as people don't care what is truth - they just blindly follow what their heroes say or what their extremist news sources say - regardless how ludicrous the views, the opinions or how demonstrably wrong the position(s) is/are

Who needs bots? They would write better than most journos nowadays I suspect - we're just talking uneducated or uncaring humans - AND probably cheap stories from other languages translated by some cheap internet translation service with nobody checking how it reads

Trying to decipher that but to no avail since I have no clue what nib means
I understand it's a Blade Runner reference of course.
