I'd agree with what huggybear said, it's not the best show, but if you take it with a pinch of salt and ignore the love interest storyline with Atom, it's a fun show. Just not as compelling as Flash or Arrow.

I enjoyed the first season of Supergirl. It is very much along the same lines as flash in it's light-heartedness. It's more about being normal and learning to use her powers than anything else and most of the villains are prisoners from a crashed Kryptonian prison ship which kind of nutralises her powers in a way.

I do wonder if Legends was set up because fans liked Caity Lotz more than Katie Cassidy as the Canary, which they didn't anticipate, so tried to find a way to bring her back. It all seems a bit rushed and random, with the get out clause of time being a bit timey wimey and wibbley wobbly for whatever they get into.

I hope that the CW uses the Flash showrunners for Supergirl and not the Arrow ones, and keep it fun and light for season 2.

There were a few little touches in Supergirl that the geek in me loved! Like having Dean Caine and Helen Slater as Supergirl's adoptive parents. I also thought Calista Flockhart did really well in it to not be Ally McBeal!

I remember Smallville had a fair chunk of folks who had been in Superman related media before. Chris Reeves, Dean Cain and many others. I always like a wee call back to some history.

I've decided to give Legends another go. I do want to like it, which is a pretty big positive. I'm not sure if having done Arrow S3 then Flash 1 and Flash 2 if I was just kinda overloaded on DC TV shows. I like Arthur Darvill from his time on Doctor Who. I like Miller and Purcell in a kind of brotherly type role after their time on Prison Break. Caity Lotz I think is the better actress for the Canary character. I would, given the ultimate power over all things DC TV, put her in Arrow and have her be Dinah Lance in memory of her sister or some nonsense. Firstly, she had chemistry with Amell compared to Cassidy. Secondly, and perhaps shaped by the fact I find Lotz more attractive than Cassidy, I also think she is a better fit for the look of the character. That said, I'm not sure a GA/BC romance is workable in Arrow with the route they've gone. I'm not sure how I really feel about that.

I did watch Jessica Jones recently. David Tennant steals the show. I'm very, very rarely blown away by an actors performance. I thought he was f*cking astounding. I'm not sure he now if when I think of him I'll think of the Doctor or of Killgrave. Tom Cavanaugh, Dr. Wells on Flash, was also astounding to me. I found both to exhibit some strong acting range and provide two compelling characters. As for JJ in general, really well written and structured show I thought. The only concern I have about the Marvel Netflix stuff is that I'm not sold on the Defenders. I'm not big into Marvel comics, except a bit of Thor and the really big famous graphic novels. Luke Cage seems kinda boring to me. Invincible type superheros don't do much for me. Superman/Wonder Woman have never been as entertaining to me as Batman or Green Arrow. I'm not sure how they'll manage to make it interesting. That said, Daredevil was a 9/10 show for me and JJ wasn't that far behind based on what they've done. I have some faith they'll manage to do it. I'd never heard of Iron Fist. I don't fancy that show based off the Wikipedia on the character. Interested in how they do The Defenders. I'm assuming we'll have JJ S2, DD S3, LC S1 and maybe Iron Fist S1 then the next year we'll see some vague threat from each of them reveal to be a big bad and they'll fight him for a full season. I think, and I don't know if this is feasible, they'd be better doing the odd Defenders episode and having them slot into these shows. I can also see that being a pain in the pickle to watch. If you need to have seen 3 episodes of DD, 5 of JJ, 4 of Luke Cage then watch the Defenders episode before continuing those shows it'll be better in my head but I think that'll probably kill it for some folk.

Also while timey-wimey and big Dave Tennant are on subject, no Doctor Who this year is a bummer. We'll have a full year between Christmas episodes and then 2017 we'll get another season with the excellent Capaldi. Not a fan of Matt Lucas or his character that will be returning. But more than that, this is about the only TV show I'll watch that I watch using traditional TV. Kinda annoys me having to pay for my TV license when I'm not really suing the service. I suppose I need it for F1 still anyway, which I watch through (a legal stream of) Sky Sports on my PC. Really hope F1 launch an online viewing service then I can just drop my TV altogether. Hoping for more Michelle Gomez this new Doctor Who series too. I think she's fantastic.

I've started getting back into Gotham, after initially dropping it because I couldn't stand the guy who plays Jim Gordon. Just enough of it is good enough for me to be intrigued again, especially to see how they incorporate the change to Poison Ivy for season 3.

So, due to the blessing/curse of never getting enough sleep I have managed to watch 16 episodes of Legends of Tomorrow in a matter of days.

It got better, I give them that. It's a pretty missable show would be my final review. It is enjoyable. I like time-travel stuff in general. If I was pressed for time and want to watch all sorts of current TV, I wouldn't. I love most comic book stuff so I did.

Loved Connor Hawke and the other guy that appeared there. Wasn't insulting to their characters from comics but gave us a fresh spin on things. I'm pleased with that. I liked the one arm thing as a kinda in-joke to another GA character. The downside - I notice guest stars names at the start of episodes. I recall a twist in Angel where a character appeared and they cleverly had that credit come up at the end. By showing it early it gave the game away. Maybe that's a contractual thing though. Oh and in that episode, GA uses his wire arrow to swing down off a car at one point. It's such a short distance and he goes so slow it looks absolutely awful.

I expected a Flash-focussed episode too tbh.

Didn't mind the Atom love story though it was utterly pointless for the most part.

If they did this show and knew Flashpoint was happening in S3 of Flash, I feel they might have been sensible to set up some of the rules for time travel. I suppose the sonic boom through time thing may not apply to how the Time Masters stuff works so may have be a sensible choice not to mention. Can't help but feel Flashpoint and a certain Citizen must be going to impact Legends though.
They did, imo, a flawed as a gherkin job of explaining why they couldn't put Sara further back in time. How is this known?
Spoiler: show
Rip had no timeline data after the Occulus blew. And the Occulus also appeared to not be 100% accurate anyway given the death it saw and the one we got. I really didn't think they had a good answer for this.

Just finished Stranger Things, what an awesome show. Not a single bad character or actor and really well paced, kept me enthralled through every episode. Really recommend it to anyone who can watch it.

So, the new seasons of CW's superhero shows are starting up, and they're looking good so far. Flash is the flagship show it seems, because the Flashpoint storyline is the major one that affects all of the shows, in subtle ways.
It does show how kinda pointless the Legends of Tomorrow show is though, because everything they could possibly do could be flashpointed away at any point.

Possibly true, but I've really enjoyed the first 2 episodes of Legends this season. They may get around repercussions of meddling with the timeline by having Gideon look at the future to check if everything is the same. Doesn't really matter though as long as it's enjoyable

Has anyone else seen the season premier of The Walking Dead yet? Really good episode but my god was it graphic!!! Andrew Lincoln was absolutely amazing in it, it's a very Ruck centred episode and he just absolutely killed it!* Great performance.

*no pun intended.

Supergirl looks really good this season, Flash looks solid, not watching Arrow (The writers are rubbish & have ruined the enjoyment of that show for me) & Legends is cheesy corny fun that I know I should hate, but I still love watching it.

Not watched any of TWD.... but I followed the live twitter reactions. wish I didn't when they started posting a certain injury... not sure I can eat mince meat for a while.

Anyone watching Designated Survivor? Very solid show that's got an intriguing mystery to it. Sutherland is great as the title character along with a very good supporting cast.

I'm really impressed with Tom Cavanagh (Harrison Wells) in flash, 3 seasons playing the same character but with different personalities and each season he does a great job of being different but the same with each one of them.

I'm also enjoying this season of supergirl. I loved the Clarke Kent persona of superman, reminded me a lot of the Christopher Reeve version of Kent.

He really stood out to me as the acting powerhouse of the show so far. Everyone is good, but I felt in S1 and S2 he was just really damned good. Especially as I only really know him from his own show and from Scrubs.

I've been watching the US version of Shameless. They did that thing where basically entire episodes are lifted from the UK version, which was a great show (I was really into it early on but it did lose me after nearly all the original main characters had left). However, it's started now to get a little different with some characters changing and a few changes to the timeline of the show. 5 seasons of it got put up on Netflix so we'll see where it goes.

Supergirl has been miles better already this season.

Flash is a little aimless atm, but I think it's the best of the CW DC shows around atm.

Stopped watching Arrow due to the utterly horrifically bad writing. love the characters and the actors... but, God, they write them so goddamn badly it's unwatchable.

Legends.... Hilarious, Campy fun. it's definitely a guilty pleasure show...

In other shows... anyone watched 'The Crown' on Netflix? Lithgow is superb as Churchill and both Smith & Foy are brilliant... glad to hear it's getting a second season for next year.

I really like Bear Gryll's The Island and wish more reality tv was along those lines of actual reality and challenge. But I think Russia may have gone a bit far with this.....

(although I do think that calling it the hunger games is a bit misleading despite what the producer is quoted as saying)

Rewatching DS9 again, god I love that show! Just getting to end of season 6 now and right into the dominion wars. Every time I watch one of the big space battles and see the amassed Starfleet, Klingon and Romulan fleets I get a tingling down my spine. LOVE IT!!!!!

DS9 was fantastic. Big fan what they did in that show. Full scale war was cool. The shady undersides of the Federation were great. Spoiler even though it's an older show...
Spoiler: show
The episode where Sisko basically allows an assassination then decides he can live with the consequences of doing things illegally was great.

The episode where after a good few episodes of the Uniforms we see Worf is in a Jem Hadar prison camp in the old uni and realise he's been an imposter.

Sisko punching Q "Picard never hit me" "I'm not Picard".

DS9 seems to be rather polarising among Star Trek fans. Seems to be generally the favourite or least favourite ST series of most people I've talked to. I like Voyager and TNG a lot too. Not a fan of TOS series but love the TOS movies (the even numbered ones at least). Not a fan of the TNG movies. Enterprise wasn't as bad as some made out. The last season got a lot better, but it did have a bit too much plot spaghetti going on at some points.

Anyone else seen the Flash/Supergirl Cross over musical episode? apart from a slight issue with the SG side of it all, I really enjoyed it. the music worked perfectly (Some freaking awesome singers on both shows) and I loved the subtle use of Flash theme music in the final song.

Just seen it. It was good fun, but not exactly a good episode. A bit wishy washy.

My overall feeling was that it could have been a lot lot worse.

Don't know if anyone else is up watching WWE hall of fame? I do love WrestleMania weekend, such a great weekend full of entertainment. But watching DDP's acceptance speech all I can think is that Shawn Michaels looks totally unimpressed and p*ssed off!!!!

I didn't watch it, but I will be watching Wrestlemania on Sunday night (or Monday morning I suppose). I did see on youtube some of Kurt Angle's bits. Love a bit of Kurt Angle. I guess they won't show HBK looking unhappy in the package on the PPV so I probably won't see it. For mania, we have 3 of us staying up. We have bingo, we have the prediction game etc. Good fun. One of my brother's friends does stuff with a wrestling group in Glasgow and met DDP a few years ago. Supposed to be a super nice guy. Was he bad mouthing HBK in some way or what? I'll check it out if WWE posts it to youtube.

No, he wasn't bad mouthing HBK, but he was thanking all of HBK,s friends but not HBK himself! I think it's just the natural haggered look HBK has nowadays tbh!!!

Kurt was great as ever, did a load of his old stints as part of his acceptance and his finish was just classic Kurt Angle and brilliant :D

I've got my little girl staying this weekend so I'm still deciding if I should just try and stay awake for NXT takeover tonight after formula e or watch it on catch up on Monday. But I'm looking forward to Wrestlemania this year more than I have the past couple of years, so many matches that should be really entertaining, especially Bray and Randy. I'm just hoping they let Brock Lesner and Goldberg go at it for more than 2 minutes!

Got WM booked for overnight Sunday... all I've seen of the HoF ceremony was Dean Ambrose being interviewed sounding quite tipsey, Sami Zayn's photobomb of Roman Reigns and the Edge moment of his wife's speech....

Started watching the NXT takeover pre-show, not sure if I'll stay up to watch it all. But I have notice that Nigel McGuinness still wearing his blue peter badge that he got at the WWE UK championship a couple of months ago

The tag elimination match was epic! I've not enjoyed a tag match that much since the Dudley Boy's/Edge and Christian/Hardy Boys rivalry about 15 years or more ago.

WrestleMania was awesome :D

I'm not going to put any spoilers down for anyone watching it tonight, but pretty much everything was just great.

I didn't really dig it too much at all. I thought it felt like many matches were just a bit of a let down. I also lost Battle Royal Bingo and Wrestlemania Bingo but did eke out a narrow win in the match prediction game. I enjoyed the first half or so a lot more than the second half.

I do agree that they maybe could've just missed out the last 4 matches as were fairly *fner*, but the first half didn't have a bad match match at all. And I do like seeing Charlotte and Sasha wrestle, it's so good that the women's division are finally as good as the men and getting the recognition they deserve for it.

Marvel's Agents of Shield is the best superhero show on television. Season 4 is incredibly strong all the way through. and the latest episode teases the possibility of
Spoiler: show
Grant Ward and Antoine Triplett coming back full time
.
Can't wait to see how this works out for season 5.

It's teasing that, but I doubt it will be what happens.

AoS is one of the best shows around atm IMHO. It would be a travesty if it's not renewed.

I've not seen the second half of this season yet, but did really enjoy the first half. I hope they don't do what is apparently hinted at in the spoiler above. I liked the character in the first 2 seasons, but think as far as the characters development and story goes, I really think it reached it's climax last season and would just be stale if they used it again.

I also think that Daisy's relationship to S.H.I.E.L.D has been getting ridiculous this season and the last. If we as viewers are supposed to believe that S.H.I.E.L.D is a genuinely efficient and professional agency, they really have been a bit 'fluffy' with their blind acceptance of her regardless of her actions.

Having said that, I do enjoy the show still.
