GP appointment at 16:40 today. 17:15 when I got in to see my Doctor. Worst bit was it seems to be a signal blackspot so I couldn't potter about online reading my favourite little apps and I couldn't listen to music because I needed to be able to hear my GP call. Then he had to double up the strength of the medication I'm on as they haven't really worked for me. Then I just missed my train to get home, had to wait 20 minutes in the cold for the next one and so missed the start of my team playing the early Thanksgiving game.

And it would've been better if you had missed the end of the game.

Dumb donkey kids who haven't learnt respect or consideration for others yet! Some have just cost me £500 in refunds to other customers cause of how they were acting last night. So if you're young, of drinking age and reading this, remember you're not the centre of the universe and other people do exist.

Blimey! Nobody's been annoyed this year? Time to slip into my Captain Quietly Fuming outfit.
Wife's i-Pad keyboard quit yesterday (Sunday) - needed new batteries so off we go to nearest supermarket to pick up a couple of 2032's. Join line of three at express check out. Stupid, miserable bat ahead of us standing there directing poor soul bagging groceries takes fourteen times longer than usual to process a few simple items and is then surprised at having to pay! We go through the "How much?" and the "Are you sure" routine before she starts fossicking around in her handbag for her purse. The purse (and I swear this is true) is on a CHAIN. I am just amazed it did not have a combination lock. Scanned batteries, swiped card, got receipt and got out of the door while said useless lump still faffing around - she may even still be there.
I wanna Taser for Christmas.

Well, this morning my tablet decided it couldn't work SSF1 with 8 laps left in the grand prix. Thankfully, I don't think I missed much.

And 10 minutes ago I realised why my fridge has been rather loud today, my freezer door was slightly ajar. Everything is partially defrosted or pretty much room temperature. So that's my freezer emptied for the first time since I got it.

I find myself getting more and more and more annoyed by the way people park.
A parking section where there is room for 6 cars, but the one on the end drives in 5 feet from the start, the one the other end 5 feet from the line and 7 feet between the middle cars. Half the parking un usable.

Oh I know the feeling. My car park for work has space for 7 cars with clearly marked bays and customers regularly park blatantly over the lines. Only bothered about themselves and couldn't care less if it stops other people being able to park. Then they always seem annoyed when I ask them if they could please mo e their car so they are in the space correctly.

What's even worse is drivers who really do not understand how cars move and don't seem to know how big their cars are! My car is very tight, bit some people refuse to believe me when I say they can get in, refuse to let me drive their car on for them and then don't listen to instructions when I talk them in :x

Just seen a BBC news report about middle-income homes not coping at the moment. They showed a family living in Kent who earn £45k a year between 2 people who say they have nothing left at the end of the month and can't cope and they need to get second hand clothes for their 2 children etc. Fair enough that Kent is an expensive place to live, but they listed their big bills each month as
£660 - mortgage
£580 - travel and car
£200 - childcare
If my maths is right, that's £17,280 leaving over £27k a year, or £2250 a month for household bills, food, clothes etc. How the hell do you spend that much much a month on these things and not manage to save anything? Last time I was living in a house with a £650/month mortgae 3 years ago, household bills and food came to about £700/month with 1 child.

How on earth do they think people on minimum wage of around £14k or less who don't or can't claim benefits cope? I honestly believe that if I got to look at their monthly expenses I could save them hundreds, if not over £1k a month, not even thinking about what a personal financial professional could do.

Maybe it's because I've always lived on under £20k (and recently under £10k working over 45 hours/week) that I just don't understand how people on that much money can possibly complain?!

Streamed F1 on the weekend as C4 didn't have it live. Had issues throughout the pre-race show so I knew at some points during the race it would freeze.

Warm-up lap complete. Fifth red light goes on and FREEEEEEEEEEEZE. Jumps straight to turn 3 and Vettel leading. My wife actually said she'd never seen a look like that on my face before....

My most favourite part of a GP is the start. Ruined.

Right now, people who seem to think they are entitled to everything for nothing are annoying the heck out of me. I've mainly noticed it online with people whining about how much games cost. They seem oblivious to the increased cost to produce games compared to in the past, even when lots of games actually coat more 2 decades ago! So taking inflation into account, games in the 90's would cost up to £100 now, where as most sell for around £50.

I didn't think about mu own business until starting to write this, but I'm actually having to charge less now than I was 10 years ago and people seem to think that it isn't value for money even though everything coats more, my operating costs have increased massively, VAT has increased, wages have increased, but if I try and sell for the same prices I did 10 years ago, I would make no sales.

The problem with video games in particular though, is 20 years ago, you'd pay your £60 for a finished game. These days, you spend £60 for a game that has two patches to fix things in the first week, and then a few extra bits of paid DLC to unlock everything in the game.
Take Injustice 2 for an example. It's a fighting game, with 9 DLC characters, at £4.99 each.

Ok, so your example is fairly extortionate! But you also have to look at how much content you get in most games now before DLC compared to 20 to 30 years ago.

It varies from company to company, but if they can squeeze an extra £20-30 out of you, they will. When Destiny was released, it had certain modes available, which were removed once DLC came out, and you then had to pay for, which is probably the worst case.

Staff member has 2 weeks holiday after only accruing 1.5 weeks to date this year, texts me her notice the day after getting back, doesn't turn up for her second to last shift leaving me in the poo poo and says she will definitely be in for her last shift after giving me an excuse, doesn't turn up for her last shift either (half expected tbh) leaving me in the poo poo again. Net result, I have to work 3 14 hour shifts in a row and lots of apologies to customers for being behind time with work (only have 3 staff members and me).

Now, after ignoring my calls and messages for over a week, she wants yo know when she's getting paid for the work the 2 shifts she did after getting back from holiday and I have no right to take any money off her wages for the holiday I paid her for in good faith that she hasn't accrued. Employer rights in the UK are a joke!

Employer rights are not much better (maybe worse) here in Canada Minchy. I retired a couple of years ago from a situation where I had about half a dozen employees: I enjoyed my job but I got really, really, REALLY TICKED at the absenteeism, the quitting w/out notice, the showing up late/B***ring off early, lounging about in the staff room. There is another thread on this board about guns - I could have quite easily gone postal on a large slice of the local population. It is the holding back the causes the frustration!
I think the real annoyance is not so much that they behave in that manner but the lack of appreciation for those things you the employer provide over and above the legal requirements.
I don't want to turn this into a long rant (I could!) but I want you to know you're not alone, I feel your pain. Take a deep breath and think that maybe her replacement will be your dream employee who only got the job because this one quit.
