If they did I bet they'd be scheming against Vettel. :D

I wouldn't send my money on a jet.

But I suppose if your missus stays in the USA it might be worth it.

Nothing wrong with having a private jet, but owning a British bulldog is just encouraging the breeders to keep doing what they're doing and breeding dogs that are total abominations of what bulldogs used to be and a very sick breed.

I'm surprised most top F1 drivers don't have one.

They're flying every other week so it wouldn't go to waste. Plus, no airport hassles, greater comfort and all of them can afford it too.

couldn't find many prices, but I saw a 2007 similar one for about €12mil, so yes, mist top drivers could afford 1. But then there's the 'parking' and storage, upkeep, crew (when in use). So you would need to make sure you have a steady income if you got kicked for whatever reason.

I'm sure they could carry a few of the crew and guests to races and give a bill to Bernie if they wanted to though.

Bombardier is one of his sponsors so surely they must have given him a good discount :)

The topic got me to thinking... I knew that Schumi has had some nice business jets but what of others. A quick search of airliners.net did not reveal any for Alonso, Vettel or Hamilton (to new perhaps for the site), but I did come up with Jensen Button's old helicopter...

Image

Here is Schumi's latest (I think) jet... first used in 2011... a Dassault Falcon 2000LX

Image

Before that he had this Hawker Beechcraft 850XPi (but seemingly for a very short period of time???) Perhaps someone knows why?

Image

Prior to the Hawker, it was Dassault Falcon 2000s though... this livery was used for much of the 2000s. Shown here at St.Moritz.

Image

and this livery was in use back in 2003

I remember an interview with the band Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder.. They asked him: " So do you have your own private jet?" "No, there is this thing called renting."
Just saying..

renting anything only makes sense to me if it's for a short period of time....

I doubt it.

They're all definitely on more than ten million a year. Lewis' jet is reported to be worth twenty million. I admit that doesn't factor in maintainence and crew and so on but it seems well within reach for all of them.

There's something called fractional ownership. I've worked as an intern at a luxury chartered airline company, and most of the bigshots have fractional ownership aircrafts.

Yes, FlexJet. Something like that. Except, maybe it could be shared among lesser number of people, say, LH gets it for 100 days a year, and another couple of guys get it for the balance period, and the ownership costs are split.

Ah well each to their own, maybe he'd rather just have sole ownership :) one of the perks of being sponsored by Bombardier I guess, surely he muet have gotten an "employee" discount :-P

Roscoe's probably better company than Nicole.
Question is, will he get more airtime in the Merc garage than her?

I'd live to see dogs in the paddock or sleeping in little beds at the back of garages, but they'd just spend their entire lives living in quarantine :(

I believe Di Resta is a director of his Families leisure firm so he isn't low on funds and could probably afford one.

There was a picture on the live autosport feed yesterday of LH walking his dog; maybe he'll take it to some races too

I might be alone in this, and it's just my own general opinion/perception, but Lewis seems to be trying too hard to, I guess for lack of a better term, 'look cool.' I understand the jet, but the whole dog thing, always referring to people as his 'homies' and wearing that beanie seems very cliche.

It's not that he has a dog. It's that he takes it everywhere with him, and posts these pictures on twitter so often. He can have a dog, sure, but does he really need to be so 'in your face' about it?

If you choose to follow someone on Twitter you then choose to have aspects of their life thrown in your face.

Hamilton doesn't throw his dog, plane, or anything else for that master in my face because I don't follow him.

Guess you don't have a dog? That's what most dog owners I know act like! My first dog even had a myspace page

I understand the jet too but what a HIDEOUS colour scheme, it literally screams gaudy trinket. It's true what they say, you can't buy class.

Oh, yes, you can. Just leave the parts where you're outnumbered to a specialist and pay him. In this scenario, a design/PR specialist to make the right choice.
In this particular case, either the PR specialist was drunk or paid less than expected...or, it was Lewis's own and personal choice, in which case I give a +1 to the post above.

I seriously don't understand how owning a dog and posting a few pictures on Twitter is trying hard aha. I've known people with far greater dog obsessions, my Grandma had like 20 pictures alone in her living room of her dogs...

I guess if you don't like how Lewis Hamilton is as a person on Twitter then there's no point in following him.
