I made my debut at the Brazilian Grand Prix

I have raced over 150 Grand Prix

During my career, my best finish was 5th in the Championship

I have driven for 5 different engine suppliers

Who am I???

I think he used a lot more than 5 different engine suppliers.

I'm struggling. I definitely think it's more than likely someone who debuted before 1996 as that's when Brazil stopped being the traditional first race.

Without Googling is nigh on impossible... I guess it's because i go back to 1981 for knowledge and there are hundreds of drivers...

Probably some kind of middle runner like:

Berger, Boutsen, Kovaleinen, Alboreto, Frentzen, R Schumacher etc..?

With a best finish of 5th place, I'd be tempted to go for the likes of Jacques Laffite but I think maybe he came 4th in 1979. He may not have driven for enough engines either. I can only think of Ford, Matra, Honda. Maybe it has to be someone who spanned the Cosworth DFV era and the turbo era to have driven for enough different engines.

Also has to be early enough that they were probably only doing 16 or fewer races in a season. Still, 150 races would be getting on for 10 years in the sport so maybe it's much more recent. Maybe even someone who started in the middle of a season when Brazil wasn't the first race on the calendar.

Thought it might have been Olivier Panis, 157 starts and first race was Brazil 1994. Raced with Renault, Honda, Peugeot, Honda and Toyota engines but ultimately his highest championship standing was a lowly 8th... I suspect it is someone around the same time

These were some of my initial thoughts but I remembered Berger finished 3rd in '94, Alboreto came 2nd in '85, Frentzen 3rd in '99 and Schumacher came 4th a couple of times (and also debuted in Oz).

Thought I was onto a winner with Boutsen but he came 4th in '88.

With over 150 GP and only 5th in the final standings... I think nobody qualifies.

There's one, but he made his maiden GP in Australia 2000.

Without googling, I was thinking Eddie Cheever.
