105 I think which must be very near the bottom of the bunch. Gamble to exclude the Force Indias didn't pay off, would have been a very different situation without Ricciardos DNF and Hulkenberg's woes. And had Grosjean been in the points.

Round 11: Budapest, Hungary

The start saw the front row starters Vettel and Raikkonen lead away but Hamilton, starting in 4th, lost places to both Red Bull drivers, however they crashed into one another leaving Ricciardo's car damaged and in the middle of the track bringing out the SC, whilst Verstappen received a 10 second penalty for the incident which resigned him to finishing no higher than 5th.

Meanwhile at the front Vettel started to experience problems with his steering which allowed both Mercedes cars to close up to the Ferrari's, then an order was given for the faster Mercedes driver Hamilton to pass Bottas to try and pass the Ferrari's, after failing to do this Hamilton gave the third place position back to Bottas on the last lap even though Verstappen was closing fast on Bottas.

Best place I've had in this competition I think. Kinda gutted I left Kimi out predicting a dnf, possibly could have won with him in my picks but I suppose I'll never know.

Why the penalty? Late entry?

It was a tactical decision because I had picked Massa and realising his replacement di Resta would not score any points I reasoned that I only had 9 picks basically.

This also then allowed me to make an adjustment for the strong performances of both Ferrari and McLaren plus the struggles of Hamilton as well, so I thought it was worth the risk, it gained me 18 points.

I take no credit for scoring 162 points and not finishing second against people who made better picks in the first place.

Alrite. Anyway You also have earned a good rest for the summer break (not at the forums though)!

Cheers.

Now I just need 'em both to reach the finish line, and I'm looking good for at least my first podium of the year. It would be a welcome turnaround to this season.

Proof, once again, that I couldn't even buy a podium finish in this ******* year. Not even getting both Maccas in is enough - I leave the Force Indias out and put Hulk in, and somehow during the race Hulk blows up and the Force Ninjas both sneak into the points anyway.

At least we're halfway through. x(

It's gonna take some real guts not to take a Mercedes 1-2 in Belgium! I envy those who take that risk but I can't afford to right now - trying to make it into the top 10.

Off-the-cuff predictions again. It worked well enough (as well as anything this year) last time, after all...

2017 BELGIAN GRAND PRIX

01 Sebastian Vettel
02 Lewis Hamilton
03 Valtteri Bottas
04 Kimi Raikkonen
05 Max Verstappen
06 Daniel Ricciardo
07 Esteban Ocon
08 Sergio Perez
09 Nico Hulkenberg
10 Carlos Sainz, Jr.

Apparently I'm the only one who thinks Seb can win. That will either give me the win, or go very poorly for me. Considering my current form, it's going to be the latter.
