Reminder to everyone! The prediction deadline for the Top Three Championship is the minute that FP3 is scheduled to begin. It does not matter if FP3 actually began, or if it is delayed for some reason, or in fact if it happens early (which it won't, but still!).

Deadline is UTC 03:00 on Saturday - 7 hours and 17 minutes away.

AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX RESULTS

Well, that was an exciting first round to the championship! With the results from testing unclear, and the pace looking close at the front in practice, I'm sure we have a nicely mixed up set of results! Let's have a look at the scoring...

Wait, you're saying everyone picked Hamilton to win? Everybody? So no one had him in second either, then? Okay, fine. Then I guess the scoring will have to be determined by who was bold enough to believe in Kimi's pace from free practice!

... Oh. That was also nobody. Ah. I see.

Well folks, the first round of CarlPotter's Top Three Championship in 2018 has ended in a 22-person draw. Nobody scored any points at all, although spare a thought for coulthards chin, who almost scored a whopping 6 points and the championship lead, had he not edited his picks to fall more in line with the consensus ahead of the GP.

First Place - 0 points

Individual Standings - Round One

Since alphabetical order currently determines the championship, Bentrovato is looking pretty good atop the standings.

Team Standings - Round One

Image

The teams are sorted in the order in which they were confirmed, meaning that No Limit Excedrin Racing leads the team championship table for the first time since the end of 2015!

CHAMPIONSHIP PICTURE

With all 23 contestants yet to record a point, the championship is wide open!

Okay fellow contestants, that does it for round one - maybe next time we'll see a bit more variety after people settle into the hesitant belief that Lewis Hamilton might actually not win every round! And let me know what you think of the new graphics - better than Liberty's, or worse?

I'm really regretting not believing in Raikkonen's pace earlier now, especially since I almost switched out third... ah well. Maybe next time! Liking the new graphics, by the way.

Bold banker prediction:

2018 BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX
Podium Prediction

1. Verstappen
2. Vettel
3. Ricciardo

Which will probably be revised to something far more conservative and boring after FP2.

EDIT: Editing my prediction and hoping that nobody reads the news before FP3! ;)

And so, the gauntlet is laid down. Of course, looking at our team names, we probably both moderately injured ourselves on it and backed out!
