Damn this one is hard, practice looks neck and neck in long runs, but this is a Merc track on paper, but Ferrari normally step up on the Saturday.

Impressive Excediron nailing the perfect podium!! Takes Big Cahones to call the Ham with a first lap incident to fight his way back to second. Congrats

YYYYYYEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

Oh dang, that feels good. After such a tough start to the season, and especially to get it at a race where almost everyone else scored nothing...

No Limit Excedrin Racing is back in the game, baby! :]

That's really not at all how I thought it would happen - I was predicting a pole-to-flag victory for Seb - but I'll take it!

BRITISH GRAND PRIX RESULTS

The British Grand Prix at Silverstone: traditionally a stronghold for Mercedes and their lead driver, Lewis Hamilton. Over the course of two practice sessions on Friday, things looked close between the silver and red cars, with no clear edge between them. It was left down to individual belief and gut feeling, then, to select a podium. Perhaps it was because of his past record, but belief in Hamilton to take the top spot was near-universal - a full 90% of the entrants who posted a prediction had Hamilton atop their podium. There were only two exceptions - madmen, or geniuses?

A little of both, as it turned out. Hamilton was punted in turn three, but Sebastian Vettel had already taken the lead by that point. Fifty-two laps - and two safety cars - later, he was still sat there in P1, shattering the hearts and dreams of not only the hundreds of thousands of British fans who had come to see their hero win, but also the nineteen here who were relying on him to produce the goods.

In the end, while only two had predicted Vettel to win - and both of those had Hamilton in second - there was only one contestant who also had Kimi Raikkonen in third spot, claiming the coveted Perfect Podium. Taking his first Perfect Podium of this campaign (and more than doubling his points haul in the process), it's Exediron who takes the solo win today!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First Place - 14 points
Exediron

Second Place - 8 points
cm97

Third Place - 1 point
Icemanjee1, Remmirath, Bentrovato

The Rest - 0 points
Everybody else

Did Not Start
Espo

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Individual Standings - Round Ten

Image

None of the current championship leaders scored, so this was more of a midfield shake-up. British GP winner Exediron shot up the ranks the farthest, from nineteenth place all the way to the bottom of the top ten, tied in points with Icemanjee1 but ahead on the unbreakable tiebreaker of having a Perfect Podium to his name. The other big mover was cm97, who scored an impressive eight points to move from eighth place into third, only three points off the championship lead.

The other three scorers of the round - Icemanjee1, Remmirath, Bentrovato - wouldn't have moved any places on merit, but Remmirath does move up from tenth to ninth on account of having been inaccurately placed in tenth before. Oops!

Team Standings - Round Ten

Image

It's a win for No Limit Excedrin Racing, and the Perfect Podium from Exediron rockets them ahead through the tight midfield from eighth place all the way to fourth. However, they're not the only movers - Bwoah Steering Wheel scored with both drivers, and since neither team ahead of them scored at all they move past Jalopy Racing into second position, now only four points off of Sand Bag'n.

CHAMPIONSHIP PICTURE

The current championship leaders remain in place, but while Mod Titanium's lead atop the individual standings remains the same, Sand Bag'n has seen their somewhat comfortable eight point margin cut in half, replaced with a four point margin to a different team.

Thirteen individuals - and all but one team - are within reach of taking the lead with a maximum result. The Top Three Championship looks every bit as close as the real F1 championship heading to the halfway point!

NEXT RACE

The German Grand Prix at Hockenheim is up next. Hockenheim wasn't on the calendar last year, so who knows how competitive the rejuvenated Ferrari will be there? You'll have two weeks to thing about it, since the exhausting (for the teams, not us!) triple-header is over, and there's a bit of a breather in between.

Ah, and I second-guessed myself from the Vettel-Raikkonen-Hamilton prediction I almost made, which (while technically equally inaccurate) would've been worth more. :( No more! From now on, my first thought shall be my prediction.

But congratulations to Exediron for the perfect podium! Not one that looked likely to happen for much of the race, either.
