111? Thanks, Checo :(

Yeah whoever picked both Force India drivers were really unlucky today, I thought I'd blown it a bit after qualifying, even my top 6 were not looking great.

I've been having problems with site for the last 2 hours so I will wait until my connection is better before I start to post the results.

It's not your connection mate, it's the server. It's being dealt with long term, but we're getting it in the neck in the meantime.

Round 15: Marina Park, Singapore

The start of the race saw pole man Hamilton lead away from fellow front row starter Verstappen and Vettel, however Verstappen experienced a momentary glitch in his engine which allowed Vettel by for second place. No sudden had Vettel made the move when the safety car was called after Perez collided with teammate Ocon putting him into the wall.

This being a track were overtaking is close to impossible pit stop strategy would be important especially as the leaders started on the fragile hyper soft tyres which needed managing which Hamilton did for several laps until he then started to push hard on the tyres to try and open a large enough gap to protect him from the under cut.

With this in mind Vettel pitted first onto the slower ultra soft tyres, Hamilton then pushed hard on his tyres before he pitted himself whilst Vettel came across Perez who slowed him somewhat, so this impart allowed Hamilton to rejoin the track comfortably still in front of Vettel, Hamilton chose the harder soft tyres which would easily take him to the end of the race whilst Vettel's ultra soft tyres would be marginal, the idea of these tyres were to better enable the under cut which failed.

Verstappen then pitted also onto the harder soft tyres which would take him to the end of the race, Vettel's problem with getting held up by Perez before eventually passing him enabled Verstappen to over cut Vettel although it was close the cars being side by side as Verstappen emerged back onto the track.

From here on the order was set with Vettel falling back from the leaders needing to look after his softer tyres, the only scare for the leader Hamilton was when he came across the feuding Sirotkin and Grosjean with Grosjean ignoring several blue flags, for which he got penalised, this allowed Verstappen to close up right behind Hamilton with him needing to defend his position until he got past Sirotkin then Grosjean.

So Hamilton took the chequered flrst from Verstappen, Vettel, Bottas, Raikkonen and Ricciardo.

Nice! The Frustrated Vettel trophy is certainly the perfect one for my season. Keeping track of my virtual position minus the 82 points I threw away early on, I would have cracked the top ten in this race.

That being only 43 points shy of the lead, so you know what not to do next year.

It'll get worse if I'm 82 points or less shy of the title this year, which isn't at all out of the question. Then I can put on my CV that I've thrown away two Pick 10 championships in only 3 years! x(

You was unlucky that year that the standard was so high, Covalent I believe had 8 podiums that year?

I was unlucky that year that I was garbage after Hungary. I remember we discovered that if I'd scored the same as anyone else in the top ten I would have taken it home - I had a 60 point lead at the halfway point.

That said, I did probably set a new standard for the largest lead given away. So there's something to come from it in the record books. :uhoh:

Ouch - that result was every bit as bad as I thought it was going to be. Maybe Haas' appeal from Monza will succeed and I can retrospectively recover a few points that way...
