I wonder why Hulkenberg would use the tires to get throught to the top 10... when he is expected to drop back 15 places anyway

I don't think they would. Drivers with grid penalties tend to run into Q2 to knock rivals out, but they don't go to Q3.

However, when Jenson's Understeer posted those predictions, Hulk's penalty wasn't known yet.

An interesting qualifying session, but a low-scoring round. Only one person called Leclerc for pole, so credit to Remmirath for that. When I was first counting the points I thought that would be the clincher for the win, since the rest of us expected Hamilton to take it, but it wasn't to be.

It's also notable that none of us scored points with Giovinazzi, nobody expecting both Alfas to make the top 10.

AUSTRIA
1 - EXEDIRON - 214
2 - REMMIRATH - 207
3 - ICEMANJEE1 - 186
4 - JZUSY - 183
5 - P-F1 MOD - 182
6 - MAYHEM - 172
7 - MOD BLUE - 168
8 - JENSON'S UNDERSTEER - 153

CHAMPIONSHIP

1 - JZUSY - 1930 [2 WINS]
2 - REMMIRATH - 1920 [2 WINS]
3 - EXEDIRON - 1898 [2 WINS]
4 - ICEMANJEE1 - 1877
5 - MAYHEM - 1871 [1 WIN]
6 - JENSON'S UNDERSTEER - 1803 [1 WIN]
7 - MOD BLUE - 1667 [1 WIN]
8 - P-F1 MOD - 1634
9 - BLACK_FLAG_11 - 988

Exactly.

I also didn't have a chance to get online and change my predictions based on the other penalties that were taken. That's the frustrating thing about a pre-FP3 deadline: anyone who is able to predict after FP2 is at an advantage (not a complaint by the way, as I'm sure I've benefitted from that position in the past, I just wonder if a fairer way of running these games is an FP1 deadline).

Penalties don't have a bearing on the scores, that's why everyone scored as if Hamilton finished 2nd, not 4th.

Right, but when you know a driver has a penalty you know they won't fight to reach Q3. That's what we were talking about, I think.

Sainz tried here, if only for Norris. But I see your point

A very tight fight for 2nd, and another for 6th, but in the end the mixed results in the lower half of the field really made the difference for the winner, who becomes our 4th 2-time winner of the season.

BRITAIN

1 - MOD BLUE - 235
2 - MAYHEM - 220
3 - EXEDIRON - 219
4 - JZUSY - 217
5 - REMMIRATH - 211
6 = JENSON'S UNDERSTEER - 198
6 = ICEMANJEE1 - 194
8 - P-F1 MOD - 195

STANDINGS

1 - JZUSY - 2147 [2 WINS]
2 - REMMIRATH - 2131 [2 WINS]
3 - EXEDIRON - 2117 [2 WINS]
4 - MAYHEM - 2091 [1 WIN]
5 - ICEMANJEE1 - 2075
6 - JENSON'S UNDERSTEER - 2001 [1 WIN]
7 - MOD BLUE - 1902 [2 WINS]
8 - P-F1 MOD - 1829
