Another race where one driver scored no points for anyone, this time Carlos Sainz. I'm afraid I missed the actual session but it looked amazing from the results! The championship already has a 97 point gap in it, but with 350 available every race that's sure to change.

Scores are as follows:

REMMIRATH 248
ICEMANJEE1 229
JZUSY 222
EXEDIRON 222
JENSON'S UNDERSTEER 206
BLACK FLAG 11 205
MAYHEM 185
P-F1 MOD 184
MOD BLUE 172

And the current championship standings, if 2 rounds really mean that much:

1 JZUSY - 454 [1 WIN]
2 REMMIRATH - 437 [1 WIN]
3 ICEMANJEE1 - 427
4 EXEDIRON - 422
5 MAYHEM - 385
6 JENSON'S UNDERSTEER - 382
7 P-F1 MOD - 373
8 MOD BLUE - 358
9 BLACK FLAG 11 - 357

Congratulations to Remmirath for the win. Some impressively good calls in that one!

It was risky but it paid off. After that he's unlucky not to lead the championship

The Chinese qualifying session threw a bone to a couple of contenders, with the winner matching the best score from Bahrain, and 2nd place very nearly matching him. For the first time this season, at least one player scored points with every driver.

Scores are as follows:

MOD BLUE - 248
MAYHEM - 243
JENSON'S UNDERSTEER - 225
JZUSY - 219
EXEDIRON - 218
P-F1 MOD - 209
ICEMANJEE1 - 199
REMMIRATH - 190

And the championship standings after 3 rounds:

1 JZUSY - 673 [1 WIN]
2 EXEDIRON - 640
3 MAYHEM - 628
4 REMMIRATH - 627 [1 WIN]
5 ICEMANJEE1 - 626
6 JENSON'S UNDERSTEER - 607
7 MOD BLUE - 606 [1 WIN]
8 P-F1 MOD - 582
9 BLACK FLAG 11 - 357
10 INVADE - 0

So far the key to my championship bid is very much 'cruise and collect'. I haven't been spot on any time yet, but I also haven't been badly wrong.

My main mistake here was misreading Haas - aside from overrating Ferrari, which almost everyone else did as well.

Ferrari are throwing off a lot of people. Look at the group pick for that. Haas were surprisingly poor this weekend as well, they usually have a good car at this stage of the season.

I actually foresaw Haas being poor, hence why I left them out of my top ten completely. I just didn't foresee them qualifying well and then being poor!

What happens with Gasly? Does he still participate in Qualy -- and so we still try to rank him among 20 -- or is he automatically out in Q1?

Whatever, I'll submit a revised entry. He's not off to a good start:

After a dramatic race build-up, with drain covers and crashes all over the place, it's perhaps not surprising that the scores this weekend are a bit lower than usual. Also, jzusy, I ran the numbers on your first prediction versus your second and you cost yourself 8 points, and a position in the results. That aside, we have our first ever repeat winner in Remmirath this weekend - but he's not leading the championship, so nobody is pulling a Mercedes just yet. Bad weekends for the mods need to stop though if we're to compete with the rest of you!

BAKU
1 - REMMIRATH - 195
2 - BLACK_FLAG_11 - 190
3 - JENSON'S UNDERSTEER - 189
4 - MAYHEM - 169
5 - JZUSY - 167
6 - ICEMANJEE1 - 164
7 - EXEDIRON - 156
8 - MOD BLUE - 139
9 - P-F1 MOD - 131

STANDINGS

1 - JZUSY - 840 [1]
2 - REMMIRATH - 822 [2]
3 - MAYHEM - 797
4 = EXEDIRON - 196
4 = JENSON'S UNDERSTEER - 196
6 - ICEMANJEE1 - 790
7 - MOD BLUE - 745 [1]
8 - P-F1 MOD - 713
9 - BLACK_FLAG_11 - 547

Guessing Exediron and myself are both on 796, not 196?

Oops! Yeah, sorry

Have to confess that I woke up at 6am on Saturday realising that I hadn't entered my predictions and so copied Remmirath's predictions as a template and adjusted it to fit my feelings, since I was less than half awake and didn't want to type it all out from scratch, so I feel a little guilty for doing so well
