Formula 1 returns to its original high speed street circuit in Canada. A circuit which often brings engine upgrades, this year it was only Mercedes whom brought a new engine. Would it be enough to match the straight line speed of the Ferrari ?

In practice the mercs took the stage early in morning practice leading the way but in the evening the Ferrari showed some serious pace. We also saw a error from Lewis Hamilton which brought him a lot closer to the wall then he would have wanted ending his session abruptly.

In qualifying Ferrari and Mercedes both took turns at the top of the time sheets. In Q3 Hamilton looked poised to rack up yet another pole setting purple times across the board on both of his runs but it was not to be as Sebastian Vettel clawed back two tenths and then pulled away by two tenths in sector 3 alone securing pole and ending quite a long drought.

On race day we were going to be in for a treat. A high speed circuit, the 2 best drivers in the business nose to tail who would come out on top?

At lights out the top 3 Vettel, Hamilton & leclerc checked out and were out of reach for anyone else. Lewis Hamilton was in hot pursuit of Sebastian Vettel pulling in the gap but then losing it as he locked up at the hair pin pushing his car to catch Vettel. When Vettel ducked in for fresh rubber Lewis went for the over cut which looked very much possible had it not been for the fact that his tires were done never really giving him the chance to execute the over cut.

Once on the hard tires the Mercedes race pace came alive and the fight was on once again for the lead!! Vettel and Hamilton were now closer then they had been all race with Vettel being given fuel level warning from the pit wall. Lewis was on full attack with both drivers racing to the limit. Vettel loses the rear of the car and commits an error forcing him off track. He rejoins only to find Hamilton in the same space. The cars come millimeters to each other And Hamilton is forced to back out of it. Lewis now losing the opportunity to challenge for the lead and seb just narrowly escaping with the car intact. The incident would go under review and Vettel was issued a 5 sec time penalty. The 2 drivers would continue to fight throughout the remaining laps but the race winner was already determined as Lewis Hamilton would go on to win the race.....

In our race however there was also a titanic battle, not for the win but for 4th as we ended up with a 3 way tie!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Mayhem for winning the Canadian GP:thumbup:

Sorry about missing out again. I've dropped out of the actual GP Predictor app thing, and it makes me forget to do this one. Not looking too good for me this season...

Formula 1 returns to The Paul Richard circuit. A test track known for its signature color contour run off area.

In practice it was a very telling tale of which team would be the favorites this weekend, as Mercedes just seemed to have an endless supply of pace in reserve. No matter what lap times were presented to them. Mercedes had an answer for their rivals.

In qualifying bottas lead the way looking as though he was the man to beat for pole. Up until Lewis Hamilton took it to another level in Q3 and left everyone is his wake securing yet another pole.

Come race day it was more of the same as Mercedes locked out the front row and held station for the duration of the race. Hamilton checked out at the front from the word go. The only driver to come under threat for the podium was bottas whom fended off a late charge from Charles leclerc but was left a little too late to make the move stick. In the end it was another merc 1-2 finish.

Notable mention to the McLaren duo of sainz & Norris for the best race of the season. Great job

Congratulations to Exediron for winning the French GP    (let the Monaco celebration continue 🤣)

I have to admit, I find it pretty hilarious that my Monaco prediction did better in France than it did in Monaco!

I'll try to have a real one again for this weekend. Really need to get some bonuses going if I'm going to sneak back into contention.

As I was doing the scores I did a triple take 👀. I like nah there’s gotta be a mistake I made somewhere lol.

The Red Bull ring currently the shortest lap in F1 classified as 10 but three of them are taken flat out. Last year we witnessed red bull rise to the top as Mercedes had a double dnf.

In practice Ferrari’s stellar straight line speed was very much present as they were very close to the mercs in early sessions. Costly mistakes from both bottas and Verstappen had he teams working late to repair the cars for fp3.

In fp3 Charles leclerc set the fastest time of the weekend. Looking more and more comfortable in the car approaching qualifying. All eyes were on leclerc to challenge for pole.

In qualifying the mercs looked to be in rough shape as they had to make multiple attempts in Q1 to be in the safe zone. The Ferrari of leclerc looked to be the car to beat for pole and he certainly delivered the goods in Q3 claiming his 2nd career pole and starting along side him would be max Verstappen which would be the youngest front row in F1.

On race day everyone was eagerly awaiting to bare witness to this epic battle between 2 upcoming stars. At lights out leclerc got away clean as Verstappen bogged down and dropped 5 spots hindering a Lewis Hamilton a bit. Leclerc took off at the front and it was off to the races as Ferrari were on the softs and everyone else was on the mediums. Leclerc looked poised to win but mad max was on a charge in the 2nd stint. Making quick work of both Vettel and bottas. Mad max was now up to 2nd on lap 56 with a 5.3sec gap to leclerc. The chase was on and in 10 laps time leclerc had mirrors full of a charging bull.

The two would battle for 3 laps with max attempting the over take at turn 3 on both occasions. The two would go wheel to wheel and would go on to touch with the baby faced assassin coming out in the top spot and claiming his first win of the season! Resulting in yet another heart breaker for Charles Leclerc. Exceptional driving by both drivers and looking forward to more battles between the two.

Well fellow gamers this was a high scoring round 8O with 1 participant correctly predicting 6 correct finishing positions!!! Another 5 correct and 1 events bonus...

Congratulations to bancieri for winning the Austrian GP

Meeeeaaaannnn while back on our leader board Bancieri has once again extended his lead by achieving yet another 60 pt haul of bonus points for correctly predicting 6/10 drivers. Special mention to Jn23 regaining the #3 spot by securing the events bonus correctly predicting all race events, a bonus that was just missed by 4 other teams missing 1 race event. What a shame x(. Also notable mention to Icemanjee1 who correctly predicted 5/10 just missing the same bonus as bancieri

Overall Standings
🥇Bancieri 552 👑
🥈Icemanjee1 443
🥉Jn23 413
