Sadly, another music legend has been lost. Al Jarreau, an artist I have listened to since he came on the scene in the 60's, passed away today. It is kind of funny that I was never able to really categorize Al as to one particular style of music, and in the story of his passing, I found out that I was not the only one...

"Jarreau won seven of them over the course of his career, becoming the only vocalist to win plaudits in the jazz, pop and R&B categories."

http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/02/12/514846063/al-jarreau-a-versatile-vocalist-who-played-his-voice-dies-at-76?utm_medium=RSS&utm_campaign=news

If you have never listened to him before, take the time to do it now.

The horse racing world are mourning of the 1999 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner Charismatic (Here pictured with former trainer D. Wayne Lukas) after he was found dead in his stall at the Old Friends Farm. It was confirmed that Charismatic died due to a fractured pelvis causing a hemorrage. He was a touching story after the chestnut almost had a brush with death at the Belmont Stakes. Charismatic almost had the Triple Crown until he took a bad trot fracturing his left fore leg. If it was not for Chris Antley dismounting his ride, the result would have been fatal.

Charismatic was 21.
