Started watching Archer. Gone through 5 seasons withing 2 weeks!!! What fun
I love me some Archer. Great show. Beautiful art, a great world design, hilarious writing and an excellent voice cast. One of those shows I wished could do 22 episode seasons but I apprciate that might drop quality or be too much hassle to animate.
Man, I've been watching a lot of TV lately. Mainly Arrow Season 5, Flash Season 3 and House of Cards S5. As these are all shows that have just finished airing or only came out recently I'll spoiler any specific plot points thoughts. Spoilers for the current season and previous seasons of each show.
Arrow S5 - Better than S4. Had some good stuff and some weird stuff. I think they tried to take it back towards the early seasons and make it a bit more gritty and a bit less "super". The casting was a bit weird. I feel like they maybe had money for 6 core cast members for the year but instead had 2 permanent characters and 8 characters who appeared in half the episodes. Very reminiscent of Smallville, especially in it's later years. Felt the villains were pretty good overall. Interested to see how they structure the show in S6 as the flashbacks to 5 years in the past aspect has caught up to the start of the show. I assume they won't just cut in S1 episodes!

Loved Slade coming back.
The choices of Flashpoint impacting basically only that John's kid switches gender seemed odd. I felt like it didn't really matter.
I really didn't like Wild Dog but I do like the Rene character.
Malcolm "dying" was a nice touch, but I have to assume he didn't actually die.
They are starting Olicity up again?
Chase was clearly going to be Prometheus or Vigilante. They did a good job in giving that option so as to keep some suspense.
The torture of Ollie was actually a really good episode.
Flash Season 3 - Flash, even with my intense bias towards Green Arrow, continues to be the better show I think. It's a little bit sillier, has a different humour and is a bit more upbeat of a show. I enjoy them both, but if I had to pick one, it'd be Flash.
Enjoyed the plot for the year. The cast is still pretty great. Tom Cavanaugh I still think is exceptional. I don't know what it is that draws me in to him, but I so think he is the best actor on that show.
(Spoiler for Legends of Tomorrow S1 also)

Liked Savitar and the time-remnant Barry as the bad guy. I only spotted that twist when Killer Frost is talking to Barry and says he's more like Savitar than he knows. Before that it hadn't crossed my mind.
Flashpoint - When they said they were doing Flashpoint I expected they were drawing heavily upon the comic rather than just taking the idea that changing a past event will change some future stuff. I wasn't expecting a full on Aquaman vs Wonderwoman war but I thought the changes might have been a bit bigger. I feel like not very much really changed.
Half way through the season I was thinking to myself that it would be cool for the Wells character to change every year as I was enjoying Cavanaugh's performance. Now I'm wondering if Anne Dudek's character is going to be the new science character to work with Cisco and Wells might be no longer a major character.
The musical episode. My goodness, some of the DC cast are incredibly talented. Melissa Benoist has a tremendous voice. Grant Gustin can sing but his dancing was more impressive. I knew Barrowman could sing already. Jesse Martin (Joe West) had probably the best voice of the cast, incredible.
I really liked the episode where Barry enters the speed force and a number of older characters appear and we see the lives of others if Flash didn't mess them up.
I must say, the scene where Barry loses his memory and Wally introduces himself as his brother and Barry shoots a wee glance down at his white skinned hand just cracked me up. I just had a laugh thinking of that moment.
I really liked the episode with Captain Cold/Snart. Interesting they played it this way. I liked that they explained Snart's sacrifice by Barry being a hero (Barry being the heart typically so it makes sense). I just think it's an odd way to play it but enjoyable. I miss Miller being more present in the shows. I love his deliberately hammy villainous performance.
Just started Legends of Tomorrow S2. I do enjoy this show. It's pretty goofy but I find it a pleasant experience.
House of Cards S5. I wasn't a fan of S4 all that much. I wasn't a huge fan of this year either. In all honesty, of the three shows I'm posting about this was probably the least believable. I enjoyed it still to some degree, but I really feel like S1, 2 and 3 were an interesting political drama and were believable. In S4 and S5 I feel like they are getting a bit silly and so convoluted. Frank has gone from being a bit of a lovely individual using guile to make the best of his situation and make his goals happen to being some kind of supervillain for the most part. Watchable still, but I think the show needs a stronger 6th season or else I'll be done with it.
Speaking of being done with shows, Orange is the New Black has it's new season coming soon. That show totally lost me. As I said a long time ago, it bothers me that the show wants me to be sympathetic to the characters so much. It's a prison, and nearly everyone that is in the prison is shown to be guilty of their crimes. I don't know, it bothers me. I enjoyed the first season. I only got a short way into S4 before I just gave up.
