Okay maybe we didn't know it was RoGro but we had to know that letting drivers keep the drs open through a corner wasn't going to end well. Have you ever played the F1 game? I can barely hold my line in Russia on the not so straight with the drs open. We had to know that inviting a driver to turn with drs open was going to lead to a crash. I remember when they were scared to give drivers drs through the tunnel in Monaco. Seems we are a lot bolder now and hopefully it doesn't happen again. But with the changes they made going into this weekend I personally was expecting someone to spin from trying to turn with the drs open.

They aren’t supposed to take turn one with drs open. Grosjean said he just missed the button to close the drs flap because of a bump on the track. Normally the flap will close by itself when the driver applies the brakes but they don’t brake for turn one.

Turn 1 is a drs zone now. Max went through there earlier. Horner believes some will use it during the race to get into an overtaking position, but most wont use it just to make up time as its gonna damage the tyres.

Ah yeah missed that. But Grosjean did not mean to take it with the flap open. Which was my main point.

But the fact that it's possible to look at a high speed flat out corner and think yeah let's put a drs zone here. That is just risking it leaving it to the drivers. And then I remember when Fred was at Ferrari he had his drs stuck open from some malfunction in the wrong part of the track just because it could. Though I think letting the drivers hold it open through corners is more dangerous than a random bug.

When it comes to driving the cars, give the drivers some respect and allow them to put their big boy pants on. On many aspects of racing (especially safety) drivers are not to be trusted. But they are supposed to be competent drivers and know how to drive their cars. So let's relax the track limits, have less driver aids, and let's see who's really the best racer out there.

Why on earth would we do that? More generous track limits makes it easier for the drivers, not harder.

I would have the gravel traps back haha

But I agree with less driver aids that means no DRS which would literally solve this!

That said I think they are waiting for the next major reg change to get rid of it... We'll see if they can achieve their ground effects goals to improve overtaking.

I would have predicted Verstappen, Rogro or a Williams would crash.
Infact, I carry that to the next race as well (2 out of 3?)
